The Watermen’s Museum invites you to become a member of our Museum or to renew your membership.
Our mission is to preserve the heritage of those who work the water and the methods and tools they use.
We illustrate current uses of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries, ecological needs, bio-diversity, and ecological and historical preservation. We conduct underwater mapping and exploration of York River bottom, to include examination of historic Revolutionary War and Civil War ships and artifacts. We provide artifact displays, educational classes, tours and demonstrations, hands-on camps and programs, and numerous special events.
