Bay to Belly Exhibit Opens

Come visit Watermen’s Museum and see our newest exhibit that tells the story of the people and cultures of the Chesapeake Bay in relation to four seafood groups: shad, rockfish (striped bass), oysters, and crabs. There are interactive screens containing interview segments and recipes as well as 20 panels highlighting historical facts and more. The exhibit was created by a joint effort between the Watermen’s Museum and staff and students from Thomas Nelson Community College with funding provided by Virginia Humanities and Hampton Roads Sanitation District.  Our exhibit will be open Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10-5 and Sundays 1-5 through December 23rd.  Then, it will travel to other locations throughout the Chesapeake Bay region.
