Wedding Venue

Web Watermens Property ArialConsistently Voted a Top Wedding Venue

Are you planning a waterside or beach wedding or wedding reception?  Or, are you seeking something that allows you to have a traditional (or even a colonial or a pirate) event?  The Watermen’s Museum is the perfect location for you.   We are located directly on the only privately owned section of beach in the entire village of Colonial Yorktown.  That means that you can take advantage of scenery unlike anything else around.

You can enjoy the tranquility of a magnificent sunset as you and your guests listen to the soothing sound of the waves lightly touching the sands.  You can enjoy the picturesque driftwood tree surrounded by natural beach grasses that adorn our upper beach area. Or, if you just want to have something different to enjoy, how about a cannon being fired from our gun deck on the beach or picture of your group in front of our  reproduction of a colonial windmill.

Voted as one of Virginia’s Top 100 Wedding since 2015, you can’t go wrong at our location.  Our large beach area supports a small intimate wedding or a wedding large enough for over 250 people.  The adjacent Carriage House is elevated nearly seven feet above the Riverwalk sidewalk and overlooks the beach and the historic and scenic York River.  And, right next to the Carriage house is our 30 foot by 50 foot events tent, ensuring even the largest of weddings and receptions can be accommodated.

Although you don’t have to use one of our preferred caterers for your event, we highly recommend that you heck out our preferred caterers at: Chef K Cooking or the Yorktown Pub.

Chef K Cooking (chefkcooking.com).

Chef K Cooking (chefkcooking.com).  Chef K is a published author. She also hosts TV segments on both the Richmond and Norfolk TV stations and hosts her own TV Show on a new streaming network called Eat This TV.  Her first season began airing in the early summer of 2022 and she continues to record new shows that will “take your Taste Buds Traveling” around the Nation and the World.  Although you don’t have to use Whichever of our preferred caterers you may choose, .  The food is fantastic. Their wide selection of menu items are very reasonably priced.  And, since they support nearly all of the events at our location you are assured of having a caterer that knows our venue and will set-up, perform, and clean-up completely, letting you focus on the beauty of this great day not on what has to be done by you or your wedding party before the day is over.

Yorktown Pub’s Chef Raymond Alomari. Has been working at the Pub for just about a year now and strives for customer satisfaction and states, “I love it when I see customers come in and leave with a smile on their face because it lets me know that they enjoyed their meal and that’s a great feeling.” What he loves the most about working at the Pub is the family atmosphere amongst the staff. They are one big happy family and he considers them his second family.

Yorktown Pub’s Chef Bryan Routtinen. has been at the Pub for thirteen years and absolutely loves being a part of something so great. He grew up cooking and has been doing it all his life. He loves the reactions of customers when they eat the food he has prepared because he knows that eating a meal out of his kitchen has made their day better. The thing he likes most about working at the Pub is that they have given him the freedom with food that has allowed him to excel at his craft.
