Join the staff of the Museum for an exploration of the shoreline ecosystem of the York River.   Students will participate in shoreline hands-on activities and learn about  diverse animals that live in our own backyard.

Orientation and 3 – 20 Minute Stations:

  1. The Chesapeake Bay Watershed / Map Study
  2. Seining on the beach
  3. Crabbing on the pier
  4. Clamming on the Beach

Grade level: K – 3

Program Location: Watermen’s Museum

Program Length: 1.5 hours
