Mermaid Tea Party a Great Success

Over 45 children and 20 adults were at the Watermen’s Museum on Sunday afternoon for our first-ever mermaid (and merman) party! Sara Nade and her mermaid friends taught the attendees proper mermaid tea etiquette and shared in the lore, superstitions, and maybe some facts, that surround mermaids.  In addition to the normal activities you would expect in an elegant tea party, the young merpeople also painted beautiful shells and rocks to brighten up the community and had their faces painted by our resident artist.   The event was free to the public and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, including our five resident mermaids who assisted in the land-based activities.  And, stay tuned for next year.  Rumor has it that the Sara Nade and her mermaid friends may be making plans for the first ever Mermaid Camp.
