Annual Oyster Roast

Join us for our Annual Oyster Roast fundraiser on Saturday, October 15, 2016.  We’ll be serving raw and roasted oysters, clam chowder, and lots of other great stuff from Noon until 3 PM.  It’s always a great event for the whole family.

All the raw and roasted local oysters we serve will come from local providers in the Rapphannock, James and York River Region.  You’ll also be able to enjoy clam chowder, hot dogs, side dishes, desserts, beer, wine, sodas, tea, and water.

If you are a serious oyster shucker, we ask that you bring your own shucking tools so that sharing with some of the less proficient folks doesn’t slow ya’ down at all.

Ticket Prices are: $40 for oyster eaters; $30 for non-oyster eaters; $20 for kids 6 through 14; and FREE for kids 5 and under.  A $5 discount is available for Advance Sales, Active Duty Military, and Museum Members.  Please, only one discount applies to each ticket.  Tickets are available from our gift shop. Just call, e-mail, or stop by Tuesday through Sunday. Phone: 757-887-2641 – Email: admin@watermens.org

While you’re enjoying the food, you’ll be able to listen to the soothing music of our friends and supporters: The LCV Project.

Thanks to our great sponsors:  WestRock (the folks that operate the West Point Paper Mill); the Yorktown Schooners Alliance and Serenity; Julie Ann’s Seafood, Patriot Tours and Provisions, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Carrot Tree Kitchens, Dominion Power, and Jordan Marine.

AND…Don’t miss the FREE Maritime Heritage Festival happening on our grounds the very same weekend; Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 10-5.  We’ll have displays, re-enactors, vendors, music, and cannons all weekend.  This is a must see for parents and for children of all ages.
